When I first decided to hire Scott, I ignored some red flags and it was my fault. I Ignored the fact that he had bad reviews, but I hired him because I was on a budget for a custody issue and I thought with a lawyer that did little research I would win easily. After giving him $3000 for two hearings, he did absolutely no research, and on a day of both hearings, he did not know my son‘s name I was trying to get custody of. He got up in front of the judge and stuttered the whole way as he did not study my case. he looked to me to complete “his sentences. I did not lose or win my case, but if he would’ve did research and worked, I would’ve won. But because he did nothing it was continued. I do not recommend Scott at all. He just takes your money and doesn’t work your case and shows up the day of your hearing and vouches for the other side and tries to force you to “settle” for what’s not right. Cheaper is not always better.

I had a really positive experience working with Scott Cohen. He was not only very kind and approachable, but also took the time to clearly explain every step of the process so I felt informed and comfortable. He always returned my calls promptly, which made communication very easy. What I appreciated the most, however, was his patience throughout, it really made the whole experience smooth and reassuring.

Scott represented me on two occasions, like most attorneys, Scott is very busy, and at first I was a little skeptical of how my case was going to go. But when we got to court, Scott really delivered, it was a pleasure working with him on my case. I would definitely recommend him for any custody situation you may have. 😊

I contacted this lawyer for a custody case and seeing that he has a high rating I was interested in him representing me. Met with Scott Cohen 2 months before my hearing. He assured me that what I was requesting was possible. I contacted him two days before my court date and he reassured me that it was a go. He informed me that he would speak with other party to come to some agreement. The day of the court hearing he arrives and then hits me with "so what are u asking for again". Moments later he speaks with the other party without leaving anytime to brief me whatsoever. Get into the hearing room and I felt like he was advocating for the other party and totally disregarded anything I requested. He charged me $1500 for something I should have and could have done for myself. The other thing was two days prior to court he acted as if he remembered my case along with my request to show up and act like he didn't know anything thay was going on. One thing I will say is he inspired me to look into becoming a lawyer because that was the quickest 1500 dollars he made gas lighting a client. If you are a female stick to a female lawyer cause I felt outnumbered and not represented fairly by this lawyer. And the kicker, wrapping the hearing up he leans over and whispers" thank u for fulfilling your payment, I appreciate it" I wanted to say " I bet you do".

Paid Scott $1500 to represent my sister in an emergency custody hearing and he was horrible. He couldn’t care any less about my sister’s situation. He didn’t advocate for my sister’s needs at all. Please avoid this man at all cost. Even my sister’s ex made fun of her for hiring this careless man as her lawyer and informed her that Scott is also racist. This entire ordeal was heartbreaking and disappointing and I would highly recommend you consider another lawyer.
