Called bc I need civil law advice as they advertise but they're busy doing housing and immigration issues right now. They are not able to help me and then give a number to legal aid in Wlimington, I'm in lower slower sussex county. I'm not going to Wilmington, that's why I called Georgetown. Delaware did me dirty like Diddy and I need legal aid!!!
UPDATE: 02/13/2024- After careful research, I found a star attorney, Sarah Spangler Rhine, Esq. who happened to be a part of the DECLASI organization. She responded to my inquiry right away and assisted me in answering all my questions (she repeatedly tried to reach me until she was successful). Although I had come to the end of my case and things were going well by my self advocacy, I still need an attorney's advice. Sarah went above and beyond to make sure I had everything that I needed. For that, I will give the organization four more stars. My previous experience was probably with the wrong attorney or advocate. 12/2023- ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE MOST LIKELY INTERNAL FALSE CLAIMS. This organization is incompetent. I called to receive help regarding a landlord tenant issue. After the attorney assigned to me finally got to talk to me, he was condescending and told me there was nothing he could do and nothing further I could do. I knew better than that, and knew I had a case. I took. It upon myself to file a case against the landlord, with proper forms for the courts (which I knew of and he did not), and my case was accepted. These organizations are a total waste of time. I guess they choose who they want to help. The attorney came off as incompetent and lazy. If you want a good attorney, go to Paul Enterline of Georgetown DE. He gave me more advice, besides what I had already came to knowledge of on my own research, and he was very straightforward. I will win my case. I could not afford Attorney Enterline but I am confident that I will do well on my own.
This agency is an absolute scam. Just another company, doing the absolute bare minimum, to justify their paychecks, funded by the government. Every single experience, I’ve had with this agency, has always consisted of the same exact routine with absolutely no help. They ask you a few basic questions, over the phone and take your information. Then they either, 1- claim to, but never call you back, 2- claim they can’t help you or, 3- set up an appointment to come in. Only to have you fill out paperwork, that ask’s you for your personal information to add into their system (This information is used to justify government funding) only to send you on your way, claiming they can’t help you. Never have they ever helped, with any questions, need or situation.
Asked for legal advice about crooked contractor with court date fast approaching. Person who answered phone asked if I was a senior. When I told her no, her reply was she cannot help me and hung up. How rude! So much for offering any help at all. KCould have given me a phone number to call someone else. I'm sure I am not the first non-senior citizen to ever call seeking legal aid.
