When my company first joined Ellsworth and Stout we were very well received. Immediate attention and communication and accurate accounting. As time went on, the responses slowed, general journal entries were thrown in to account for things months later and communication was "Apologies, we'll get that done by EOB tomorrow". That happened enough times over two years that we have decided to leave. Nice people, for sure. Just VERY frustrating Update: We were charged for bookkeeping every month and reconciliation was left incomplete and then dropped a $6,000+ bill on the way out.

I was utilizing the services of this firm for over 4 years. I was then transferred to a Deborah Perry that took over my file 2 years ago without being notified prior. I continued to use their services, despite many times that Deborah responded condescending, or not in a timely manner. They continued to render services without taking money at times or even explaining what they were doing, the costs, or really notifying me of an invoice or cost, until after the service was completed. I actually paid close to $4,000 for a service to the IRS that I was told would be completed, that was not accepted by the IRS with their processes. I went through a divorce in 2023 and in doing so, I was traveling in and out of the country. I was disputing some of the invoices given to me, and in doing so, they continued to refuse appointments for me to come into the office until I "settled my invoices". I sent countless emails to Deborah in regards to speaking to me, and they were all disregarded. Finally back in the country, I verified and settled my invoice, and received a nasty phone call from a Mark, who claimed to be an account manager. He stated they do not work for free, and that they will discontinue services with me, after I just paid my invoice. I nicely explained I was traveling and said in the future I would actually like to pay my invoices in advance for services I am actually requesting, but this individual was extremely rude, and arrogant stating he is confident that this firm is good enough that they won't care what reviews I write, or need my business. I would highly suggest not ever using this firm as they are late in responding, expensive and talk to you in a very condescending way. If I could give these people 0 stars I would,after all the money I spent at this firm. Go to a different firm.

I sent them a message yesterday, and already had an appointment scheduled for this morning. They are quick! We were able to consult over the phone so my husband and I didn't have to miss work while going into an office. They are reasonably priced, and we are pleased with the service. We spoke with Daine, who was very informative and helpful. He educated us much more than he had to, and it was very much appreciated. I highly recommend these guys.

I was in a bind. I hadn't filed taxes in 3 years, due to a divorce and other financial situations. Dain Ellsworth rolled up his sleeves and got all 3 years done in NO TIME, at a VERY REASONABLE fee, and with the UTMOST of professionalism. I can't say enough about the EMOTIONAL relief Mr. Ellsworth provided as I was SURE I would be in a very bad place. Instead, with his access he was able to provide information I have been trying to obtain for MONTHS, which got my taxes done and on their way in less than a week. I can't say enough about Mr. Ellsworth and his associates. I would like to recommend he and his associates for ANY of your TAX or Accounting needs.

Ellsworth Gilman & Stout have prepared my personal taxes for several years. They continue to provide me with the same honest, accurate and timely service as they do for their larger clients. I highly recommend them.
