I would not recommend Expat Tax Professionals for anyone with a complex first-year expat filing. I paid a premium expecting accuracy and expertise, but the experience fell far short of what was promised for my 2024 filing. Despite providing all documents, explanations, and clarifications upfront, my return was filed incorrectly. I was initially told I was due a refund of around $5,000, but when the IRS processed the return, I actually owed about $10,000. This should never have happened with a specialist firm charging these kinds of fees. What frustrated me most was the response afterward. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or helping resolve it, the firm immediately tried to upsell me into their audit-support service. At no point did I feel real ownership or accountability for the error. For straightforward expat returns, they may be fine — but if you have a multi-country first-year situation, investments, or more complex income, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The cost is high, the accuracy was not there in my case, and the follow-through was disappointing

I just can't thank the support team enough. I've always used accoutants in the past so felt very unsure filing on my own and did make a huge mistake. If preparing your tax can ever be enjoyable, this was. Special thanks to Amy, Matthew and anyone else whose name I've forgotten. I had multiple emails and questions. Deb

As an expat living in Germany this was my first year with Ephraim Moss and his team. I have changed my tax team because I felt there was room for improvement as far as explanations are concerned. Right from the start - we met during a Skype talk – Ephraim took time to answer my questions. As this is not really my field of expertise I very much appreciate good and clear communication and follow up explanations. He and his team worked with my German tax people very well. Professional. Smart. On time. Good communication. What`s not to like?
