I won, the judge ruled my daughter got to stay in Michigan with me while her mom moved to Florida with her other two children (different dads). If I had to do it all over again I would hire them and highly recommend you do the same if you’re a single dad like I am. I’d like to start off saying a big thanks to Awan Kuza and James Moriarty for representing me in my case helping me keep my daughter in Michigan. To start off the free consultation was good. Awan was incredible in court she did fantastic! She fought so hard for me and did everything she absolutely could! She actually made the other party admit to lying in their testimony multiple times by asking all the right questions at different angles. She asked her at first if she ever did cocaine or meth and ofcourse she responded with no at first. My lawyer kept drilling her with questions for almost two hours straight which eventually made her admit to doing cocaine and meth while kids were present in her care. And admitting to many other things. She knew exactly what to ask and how to ask them about everything like her housing situation, driving record, work, and life. I am very glad I chose this company because awan is truly good at what she does and I would recommend her to any of my family, close friends, and people who I don’t even know. I truly believe her questioning skills really made a play in the outcome of the judges decision. Without a lawyer trying to fight for me the other party could have just said no they don’t do drugs and the lawyer could have moved on with different questions. But she made sure to keep asking more questions which eventually brought out the truth. Awan was my lawyer for the first two hearings. For the last hearing an emergency hearing came up for one of her clients so she sent James Moriarty to represent me for my third hearing. She told me it should be a very short hearing and should go smoothly since it used the transcripts of the last two hearings. He did well to wrap things up. In the past I tried going for more custody (I already had 50:50) than I had due to my daughter having bruises all the time after being in the moms care, terrible rashes from not being changed properly, and just getting hurt a lot in her care. Without a lawyer i lost and all my evidence got thrown out because I didn’t know how to present it properly. Don’t make the mistake like I did at first go with awan kuza. She will make sure you have the best chance at keeping what means the most to you in your life. Your family. Again thankyou for everything you did. - a happy dad
I spoke with Jay today who was amazingly helpful. I was calling on behalf of a real estate matter and even though this was t a main focus of their law firm, he was able to send me the cell phone numbers of multiple attorneys who specialize in what I’m looking for. He was a great listener when it came to my explanation of the situation and even though it wasn’t something they could particularly help me with, the fact that he went above and beyond to get me in contact with the right attorneys for the task was A+ customer service. If this is how they run their law firm then anyone needed their legal services will surely be in great hands! Thanks again Jay!!
Michael Kelly has been an outstanding attorney to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable, and always thorough in his work. He took the time to listen to our concerns, explained everything clearly, and made the process as smooth as possible. We felt supported and confident every step of the way thanks to his expertise and dedication. Highly recommend Michael Kelly for anyone in need of a trustworthy and effective attorney.
If you want to be strung along for over four months and waste $6,000 without even going to court than this firm is the place. From day one I felt like attorney FranFran didn’t want to take on my case but he kept me hopeful and kept stressing we had “loopholes” we could work around. After pushing my court date back three times I called the firm to request a new attorney but fell on deaf ears. I then realized after I had to beg for updated invoices that he was charging me over $150 every time he pushed it back because of the paperwork he had fo file. I also got charged over $200 for him to respond to my email because the court was calling me asking if I was still coming, not sure if he submitted the paperwork on time but I ended up getting charged for wanting confirmation that he did his job. I also called to talked to the financial department about a few charges (7 to be exact) regarding phone calls and emails between us that I was charged for but when looking through my call logs and previous emails I have no record of those dates. They completely ignored me. I also got charged another $250 for telling him I was no longer going to use him or the firm but still waiting on confirmation that he canceled the last court date which should be today. Stay on top of your invoices (they will use up your retainer really fast with just emails and phone calls, but make sure it is correct) it’s unacceptable I paid $6,000 and never even got my date in court! For me it was a complete waste of time, resources and money. Would not recommend him to anyone.
Going through a divorce and child custody case has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, and I am incredibly grateful to have had Matthew Schultz by my side throughout the process. From the very beginning, he showed not only professionalism and strong legal knowledge, but also genuine kindness and sensitivity toward my situation. Matthew took the time to listen and truly understand what I was going through, which made me feel supported during such a difficult time. He explained every step of the process in a way I could understand, answered all of my questions with patience, and always made sure I felt informed and comfortable with the decisions being made. What stood out the most was how approachable and compassionate he was. Divorce and custody matters are deeply personal and emotional, but Matthew treated me with respect and care, which gave me peace of mind. At the same time, he was strong and strategic in representing my interests, ensuring that my children’s well-being remained the top priority. I cannot thank Matthew Schultz enough for his guidance, support, and dedication. He truly went above and beyond, and I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone who needs an attorney who is not only highly skilled, but also compassionate and understanding.
