Reviews
This review is written in Canada following receipt of a product sample distributed at a conference in Denver, CO. The packaging features a yellow-brown sunset aesthetic with a vertical brown stripe serving as a backdrop for the product name and description, along with a reference to an original homemade caramel recipe. Macadamia nuts are not commonly found in Canadian grocery stores, but prior experiences with macadamia nuts from Hawaii have set a high standard. Upon sampling the candy, the initial impression is dominated by the taste of chocolate, which, unfortunately, lacks the expected richness and flavour associated with chocolate. Instead, a filmy, greasy, corn-syrupy taste prevails, masking the flavours of caramel and macadamia nuts. The macadamia nuts themselves, although present, lack discernible flavours and could easily be mistaken for other types of nuts. The ingredient list on the packaging reveals a significant presence of artificial ingredients which detracts from the perception of quality. Despite being labelled as the original recipe, the candy appears to be designed for mass distribution rather than artisanal craftsmanship. Comparisons to similar candies available in Canada such as Turtles suggest a preference for our fresher and more flavorful alternatives. Overall, the experience warrants a two-star rating, with little inclination to repeat the experience. Suggestions for improvement include using higher quality chocolate, reducing sugar content, increasing the prominence of macadamia nut chunks, and reconsidering the packaging colour scheme to enhance visual appeal. The product's origins in Hawaii raise curiosity about potential similarities to local Hawaiian chocolates, prompting interest in exploring such alternatives in the future.
The quality was disappointing, and the phone support was unhelpful and lacked compassion. I explained that the chocolate had bloomed before I gave it to friends, and now it tastes like chalk. Very frustrating experience. Please do not support this organization. Find an actual local Company to support like Manoa chocolate instead.
extremely overpriced chocolate that tastes like wax. 70% of the container is just waste made to enlarge the size of the box for very tiny pieces of chocolates. I will never buy this scammy product again
I love white chocolate and nuts but can never find anything that has that combination. I was so excited to see your strawberries & cream white chocolate macadamias. They are absolutely fantastic with the sprinkle of strawberry powder! I will be ordering more since I seem to have inhaled my first bag. Your price, on Amazon, is very reasonable.
wow - what a disappointment. Bought the choc cover nuts and they were an awful color and tasted bad. Contacted the company and was told the product goes bad if it is subject to temperature changes. Not sure how you can get the product back to the mainland then. I asked for the company to send a replacement box and they told me it is not their problem. They do not stand behind the quality of their product. I would not buy again and recommend that you don't either
