I am very thankful for the excellent representation provided by Chris Heckert on behalf of my son. He handled his case with professionalism, care and a strong understanding of the legal process, ultimately helping to get a CPO dismissed. Review of Mitchell Moreland – Unethical, Dismissive, and Part of the Problem I consulted Mitchell Moreland regarding serious ethical violations and potential malpractice by my former attorney. Instead of receiving legitimate legal advice, I was met with dismissiveness, unprofessionalism, and shocking admissions about how lawyers protect each other from accountability. Major Issues with His Conduct: Dismissed Clear Evidence of Misconduct Despite providing emails and documentation proving unethical behavior by my prior lawyer, Moreland brushed it off as "normal" and claimed nothing was wrong. He admitted lawyers cover for each other, saying, "Your evidence doesn’t matter" Discouraged Reporting to Disciplinary Counsel He lied about the disciplinary process, claiming: *"They’ll only look at 1-3 things and ignore the rest."* His attitude was, "Don’t bother, nothing will happen." Laughed at Serious Ethical Violations When shown proof that my former attorney admitted judicial bias against immigrants in writing, Moreland laughed, as if amused by the carelessness of leaving evidence. His reaction suggested this is just a game among lawyers—who can exploit clients without getting caught. Admitted to Manipulating the System He boasted, "We do this all the time—we know how to avoid consequences." He even pressures clients to waive their rights, confirming a pattern of misconduct. Hypocritical Given His Own Disciplinary Record After the consultation, I discovered Moreland has been disciplined multiple times—explaining why he downplays ethics violations. His advice wasn’t legal guidance—it was damage control for his profession’s corruption. Final Verdict: Complicit, Unethical, and Untrustworthy Mitchell Moreland is not a lawyer you can trust if you’ve been wronged by another attorney. He protects his peers over clients, mocks serious ethical breaches, and actively discourages accountability. If you want real justice, avoid him at all costs—he’s part of the problem. Words can’t describe how amazing Chris is. My family, friends and I can finally breathe and sleep again. He got us through one of the most devastating times of our lives. We will continue to utilize his expertise. I truly do not believe anyone else would have won this case. It was extremely tough, bc the courts seemed to only care about a short period of time. It put Chris in a bad situation, but his preparation was unbelievable. He has an arsenal in his pocket and he adapts to the situation. My only advice would be to give him everything he asks for, even if it embarrasses you, you regret some of it or don’t think it’s relevant. He will find something in it and it will benefit you. Update: I hired Chris for a new case. I’m sure the outcome will be fair. - just wanted to mention this about his staff. A lot of people complain about staff on other law firm reviews or they aren’t mentioned. I will tell y’all this, Mary Beth is the best. She is nice, always answers anytime during business hours, (sometimes after) takes good notes, makes sure the lawyer gets all the info, relays his responses, responds quickly to emails, (normally with in the hour), talks to my mom, explains everything concisely, will tell me how I can improve , sends all court orders/documents via email, on top of subpoenas, calls courts on my behalf, deals with all my drama/stress, is honest/real, gives a positive outlook ect.. the list goes on. I’m just glad the law firm going against me doesn’t have a Mary Beth! Everyone else in Chris’s office is nice to and seems involved/invested.
