We have always taken pride in being legal immigrants, and never imagined that so many parts of U.S. immigration law are, frankly, a joke. The difference between legal and illegal status can come down to something as trivial as a 7-day vacation in Toronto. Many lawyers treat their clients like fools—playing judge themselves, telling you what you can’t do and where you can’t go—when in reality, they don’t want to do anything except collect fees (strategic exceptions aside). In such a complex environment—one that many immigrant families will likely remember as the defining challenge of 2025—if you’re facing extremely difficult issues related to legal immigration and you need an excellent lawyer, an outstanding lawyer, a problem-solving lawyer, not someone pretending to be a judge, then I highly recommend Jeremy McKinney. Jeremy McKinney didn’t charge me any fees and spent significant time analyzing my wife’s case. He is someone you can truly trust.
My experience with McKinney Immigration Law was nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. I paid for a consultation expecting to meet with an attorney, but instead, I was only allowed to speak with a paralegal. There was no formal review of my case, and looking back at it, it felt like they were just going through the motions without any real attention to detail. The firm’s lack of organization became clear when, months into my case, they told me they had lost important documents. After weeks of confusion, they finally admitted they had the documents the whole time—just misplaced among other files. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, especially in legal matters. To make things worse, I was never able to speak with an actual attorney. When I asked to talk to the attorney, I was shut down and told I had to pay an additional $250 just to have a conversation. Meanwhile, the paralegals who handled everything made multiple mistakes, never took responsibility, and showed no concern for how their errors could have negatively impacted my case. I cannot recommend this firm to anyone who wants reliable, professional legal representation. They are disorganized, unresponsive, and seem far more interested in collecting fees than actually helping their clients. Save yourself the frustration and take your case elsewhere.
I had an excellent experience with McKinney Immigration Law in recent months. I was introduced to them via my prospective employer in order to assist me with applying for a H1B visa. From my research online, I thought this was going to be a stressful process, however it couldn’t have been more stress-free thanks to Jeremy and Priscilla. They explained everything to me from the get-go and once I had the relevant documents provided, they looked after everything else from there! Their diligent work and timely responses meant that my petition and visa was approved much quicker than I could’ve even hoped for! Would highly recommend this firm and I know I will be reaching out to them in future if I require their services or advice.
I just called and spoke to a person name Janette about help with a juvenile visa process and I was denied service. She was extremely unprofessional about it. Jeremy represented me many years ago when his firm was just getting started. He was young and had joined the military. I hate it that I was treated this poorly despite the fact that I mentioned being a previous client. I don’t even understand why I was denied service. She was very short and said we feel like we cannot help you. I hope Jeremy gets this message. I wish this would be a great review for his firm because he is great but these people are truly messing his firm up 😞
I don't recommend this Law Firm, Attorneys and paralegals: They gave my husband a year to gather his information (which I might add he had to do all the gathering) and send in his paperwork to immigration, unfortunately they have been stalling him by bringing road blocks to him that halts his case. They have all his money and will not proceed with his case. When asked to make an appointment with the Attorney to discuss matters he was told "no you have been told what to do and there is no point to speak with the Attorney". They are rude and very misleading. Don't waste your time or money with this firm. They are being looked into. Update: 10-07-24 The Firm was very hostel with me and my husband after I posted this review and have dropped our case. Thankfully they returned our money and we can find someone more productive. Reviews are important and I should have read them b4 taking on this Firm. They never did one thing for us within the year except make us work and hold our money till time ran out. Writing this review helped us and we can move on. BEWARE
