I walked into France Nolan’s office totally confused as to what I was getting into. In the first meeting, I knew she would be the right one to work with through this process. It is an intimidating time, but my ex and I had shared goals and I had my own, and Frances helped me achieve those. This process does not go smooth, no matter how much you think you can make it that way. However, Frances was there as a partner in the process helping navigate all the twists and turns. She helped manage difficult conversations, provided creative solutions, and managed expectations throughout. She was open-minded to outside the box ideas, how to incorporate those in the divorce process, and when to steer me away from them. I never felt like she was running the clock/bill on me and felt that I had someone in my corner (when very few were). What she does not list in her services was the mental health counseling she sometimes had to step in and provide. I wouldn’t’ hesitate to recommend Frances to anyone going through this unfortunate situation. The collaborative divorce process is not something you hear about often, but Frances fought for me and the interests of our goals throughout. 5 Stars.

I cannot say enough good things about Leigh Byers with Nolan & Byers Law Firm. She came into my divorce case a year into the process after my former attorney withdrew the day of trial due to a conflict of interest. Leigh had to get up to speed on an extremely complex and emotional case in a short timeframe, and she did so with incredible dedication and grace. She worked through her own vacation to make sure we were both prepared, and she fought for me every step of the way. Her communication, empathy, attention to detail, and negotiation skills were outstanding. Leigh not only advocated fiercely for my best interests in a high-conflict case, but she also made me feel seen and supported through one of the most difficult times of my life. When my ex was dishonest in court documents, she didn’t let anything slide — she stood her ground with professionalism and strength. Even after we were able to settle the case the day of trial, she continued to fight for me until everything was finalized months later. Leigh is everything you hope to find in an attorney: knowledgeable, compassionate, and relentless when it comes to justice. I’m forever grateful for the way she showed up for me and helped me close this painful chapter with confidence and peace.

I cannot thank Frances enough for all of her care and support throughout my divorce process. From the first time we met for the initial consultation, I knew she was the best fit for my particular situation. She also provided ample advice and resources for how to talk to my children about divorce which was incredibly reassuring. If you are looking for someone hard working, who will fight for you, and is also incredibly caring, look no further. Highly recommend Nolan Byars!

As I made a huge mistake, marrying into a very tumultuous relationship. I made a second mistake hiring attorney Leigh Reynolds Byers. My now ex-wife had accused me of physically assaulting her during our relationship and had me arrested. She actually did assault me and was also arrested which is very tough to do in the state of Alabama My mission behind hiring Leigh was simple. I did not want to get arrested again during the separating of property. She talked a very tough talk during the interview, however, when she went up a male counterpart attorney that my ex-wife hired, she seemed to get very timid very quickly. To say the least, she failed miserably keeping me out of jail as I was arrested a second time, again, so was my ex where she again did physically striking me. I followed my attorneys direction and advice to the letter and even videotaped the entire encounter as well. The insult to the injury was an email that Leigh sent to my ex’s attorney stating “well we did the best we could“ while I was sitting in a jail cell rather than trying to find a way to get me out! If this was her best, I highly recommend Finding somebody else Who has a better “Best“ I have read all of the other reviews of this law firm, which is why I pick this law firm. They seem to be very happy. If you choose this firm, I truly hope you are as happy as they are because the alternative might be a night in a jail cell This was 2021. Fast forward to February 2026, when I noticed my mug shot on Google, I contacted her again to see what could be done as my case was totally dismissed after the videotape was seen by not only prosecutors, but by the judge. She advised me that I had no recourse to take my photo down from Google, and that my file was closed and she was no longer going to respond to me. I would say you get what you paid for, but I paid full price. I wish you much better After reading your response, it actually proves how disconnected you were to my case. You actually think I was happy with your work when I spent another 24 hours in a jail cell. And again finding out you washed your hands of it with your email stating you did the best you could rather than trying to get me out. If you hire this person, this is the kind of service you’re going to get. A total disconnection for the reason why you hired her in the first place!!!

I have had very little experience with the legal system so I was understandably anxious when faced with choosing an attorney to handle my divorce. A trusted friend recommended Frances Nolan. My first meeting with her brought a sigh of relief. She put me at ease almost immediately. She was seriously professional, yet easy going. She outlined an action plan in clear simple words and answered all my questions. Her calm assurance was just what I needed As the divorce process progressed, Frances kept me informed with phone calls and emails. Her guidance, thoughtful suggestions, and cheerful disposition were much appreciated.
