This review is only for the consultation process. I’m sure Attorney Haynes and her staff are wonderful. But I would hope they take this review as constructive criticism and find a better way for consultations. I understand they cannot give you their pricing until they look at the case but they could at least give a ballpark guesstimate. I told them I had a pro bono lawyer previously and I am low income, I asked what range would my type of case be in. They said they had no idea. So when I paid the $200 consultation fee, I spoke for 30 minutes and while we were speaking, the lawyers must’ve taken a look at it and quoted $8500 for a JP case. I was told the retainer was normal. That could’ve been told to me before I scheduled the consultation. If that is the ballpark for a JP case with no assets to divide or anything complicated, then that had to be something they could say as we scheduled the call. I could’ve chosen not to waste anyone’s time, by saying I can’t afford that range. They said it varies for everyone but in all honesty it feels like a way to collect money. Especially after calling other lawyers and they give a range for their fees. It just really seemed so shady to take money from a low income family.

Frieda was very polite, professional, and respectful throughout the intake process. She really took the time to listen, gave clear and helpful information, and was patient as I explained my situation in detail.
