My experience of Melissa is that she is incompetent, unprofessional, and needs constant reminders. She missed a hearing and I was not informed about that, until it was discovered by new counsel who requested copies from me. I made a complaint, and she later received a written disciplinary letter from the Arizona State Bar Melissa needed constant reminding about what was going on in my case almost missed a disclosure deadline, I had to email her a few days before, reminding her of the email containing evidence sent weeks prior. She was at times plain rude and pushy in order to get me to agree to something. At the time she wanted me to agree to certain scenarios that would have left me financially worse of and my child unprotected. When I held my ground and refused to accept it paid of for me, despite her advice. Unfortunately some other things I agreed to under her advice were not in my best interests and I only found out the damage after retaining new counsel. I would never recommend her to anyone. If you are unaware of the law I believe you will likely agree to positions that leave you worse off and never realize. I have a legal background so I knew some things were off, but I did not realize how much until I talked to other divorce lawyers.

I have been a client of Jim and Melissa for a little over two years now in dealing with my child's father and very high tension custodial proceedings. Jim and Melissa were the first people to ever listen to and help me with my situation. I am proud to say that as of court today I now have full custody of my daughter. Melissa has definitely helped me to learn patience as well as we have had a long go at it. Melissa is an amazing attorney and made my life so much easier from the moment I hired her. She doesn’t play games like other attorneys do, she is straight forward and to the point. She also doesn’t reach out to you every day in an attempt to drain your funds. I really appreciated that! My only wish is that I found her sooner!
