Reviews
I met with Dominique in person recently to consult on a complex child custody modification. First of all, she is SO NICE. But more important than her kindness is her professionalism, honesty and transparency. We discussed aspects of my case regarding: the approach for trial/exhibit collections, payment structure, process expectations, etc. I have so far represented my motion as pro se and desperately needed an attorney to guide me through the process to prepare for/compete trial. Dominque explained possible options for representation, and gave me several options for retaining her services while keeping my costs as low as possible. (Most attorneys won't be willing to do this!!) Dominique was extremely professional, and most importantly she was transparent and honest. She did not give me any false reassurances or unsound advice in a bid for me to retain her services, and she spent extra time explaining things to me and giving me cost effective options. This was a FREE consult. I wish I met her YEARS ago. She was willing to help me in my complex circumstances, when many other big budget large law firms didn't even bother to call me back. I did not retain Dominique simply and ONLY due to my budget constraints, but she was recommended to me by another family law firm in town that was much more expensive. So compared to other firms, she is much more affordable and flexible with fees. She is responsive to inquiries, and easy to schedule with. Based on my very positive interactions/consult with Dominique, I would hire her in a heartbeat.
Dominique was always patient and sympathetic to questions I had about an upcoming court date even before I retained her as my attorney. I constantly changed gameplans on her regarding what I wanted but she was understanding and always gave me the impression that she was going to be flexible to my needs as a client. I had previous attorneys who were difficult to have conversations with over the phone, but Dominique was refreshingly different. Dominique always had a confident demeanor about a positive outcome for me in my case. My court date wasn't a trial, the opposing party and I basically showed up at court with an agreement. But if things went south for me, I was confident that I had Dominique by my side. I unfortunately never got the chance to see her "in action" in a trial setting, but I am confident she would have done right by me and fought for my rights as a father if things took that route. I would easily recommend Dominique to anyone wanting a caring attorney and I wouldn't hesitate to request her services again in the future.
Dominique has helped me in an ongoing custody battle that has lasted over four years, which has taken us to court (playing defense) at least three times, and we have had success each time. She is always so responsive, kind and understanding even through all the dramatic ups and downs of your divorce / fighting for your children. She has enormous amounts of experience and her knowledge in these types of situations is immeasurable. I have trusted her through hard times and will continue to trust her when it comes to protecting my family! Thank you so much Dominique and Tara. My family and I are forever grateful!
I wish I could give her a good review, she was a nice person. I often was not informed of important dates and information that I asked for repeatedly. I would beg for her to reply to me and get radio silence for days even weeks. In court I felt like she was timid. When my ex’s lawyer was vicious and on the attack in the courtroom, she would lie down. I got the feeling that she was not respected by her peers and superiors and you don’t want that in a legal battle. Court documents would have typos and blatant mistakes, to the point that I made sure I reviewed everything before she filed. I just wasn’t happy with this service. Worst year of my life fighting for custody and putting my trust in the wrong person. I take no pleasure in writing this review, but if you have to fight in court, this isn’t the lawyer for you.
