Stay away from Matthew Torres. My divorce took three years because my ex-wife was making horrific false claims about me. I didn’t see my kid for two out of the three years. I realize now that this could’ve been prevented with legal action that could’ve been taken by mr. Torres. The assets were not split at all. I received zero assets. I was brought to Court where Matthew had me agreed to Include my ex ex-wife’s debt to be split, but not mine . I told him the debt was incorrect and he said in court to agree to it and thatwe could change it. Then when I Asked him to change it he ignored me for six months. The debt was never changed and I still have over $20,000 of debt from my marriage ,, then Mr. Torres blamed me for not being prepared for the hearing regarding the debt,, When he never asked me to have anything prepared, and I had no idea what the hearing was about. So in conclusion I didn’t see my kids for two years out of the three-year divorce due to false allegations and parental alienation which could Have been prevented by Mr. Torres . My debt from my marriage was not split properly and I still have over $20,000 in debt Where Mr. Torres blamed me ,, My assets were not split Where I basically begged him to help me receive something… Anything… and received nothing Now it is five years after my divorce began and I have to go back to court to try and take care of the job that Matthew Torres did not do. I would rather represent myself then be represented by Matthew Torres pro bono.

My custody case, which I expected to be simple due to the father’s absence, ended up lasting three years. During that time, I never met Mr. Torres in person and felt important issues went unaddressed, especially regarding child support. As a full-time parent, I would have appreciated clearer guidance on matters like splitting health insurance or including sports expenses—things I later learned should have been considered. I eventually ended his services which cost me paying a high priced additional fee, in order to find out how to proceed on my own. For the cost of legal representation, I expected better communication, more proactive advice, and at least one in-person meeting. Based on my experience, I believe more could have been done, and I plan to research future attorneys more carefully.

Donna Trujillo Dodd is the worst divorce attorney I have ever heard of and have ever seen handle a divorce case. The way she has handled my mother’s divorce for the past 2 years has been nothing but a hassle for anyone to get in contact with Donna. She has a contradicting tone of voice and she seems like an unseasoned divorce attorney. What kind of attorney sends paperwork the day before court happens. Donna has seemed like she hasn’t been on my mother’s side through this whole experience. Her paralegal Mirerra is an incompetent part of the office and I’m not sure why she even has a job there. Please take your money elsewhere and save yourself some time as well.
