I highly recommend IDS to any company serious about growth and accountability. In a single day, their team came in and reinforced a strategy I had been pushing internally for years, but they did it using our own data. That validation was powerful for my executive team, and just as important, it helped me realize that while my strategy was sound, I wasn’t clearly communicating my expectations as CEO. We were assigned Benjamin “Frank” Shue as our Strategic Advisor / Assistant PM, and he immediately went to work alongside our executive team. Frank helped us firm up our organizational structure with specific focus on Sales, Project Management, Operations, and Finance. The tools and resources IDS provided allowed us to start operating logically and systematically — removing emotion from decision-making. We’re a 31-year-old company with many senior leaders who have been with us 15+ years. Frank helped us recognize that while experience is valuable, relying on “tribal knowledge” was limiting our growth. By implementing IDS’s “Critical Path Strategy,” we now approach both large and small challenges with structure and clarity. Problems are communicated as opportunities, and ownership of solutions has dramatically increased across our team. For me personally, this has been a breath of fresh air. IDS helped me gamify our organization, bringing back energy, clarity, and excitement to a company I’ve loved since day one. Appreciation for Exceptional Work: I wanted to take this opportunity to share our gratitude for the work that John Yeager provided for McCormick Automotive Center over the last four weeks. At a critical time in our company’s progress his work has helped us refocus and think in different ways that I am sure will allow us to become stronger and more successful. He really spent the time to understand our specific business and the mission and goals we value. He did not provide a number of ‘cookie cutter’ tools and approaches but actually tailored them to our specific business. We have been using a number of different operating systems, standard tools, and general reports that provide a vast amount of data and he has been able to help us take what we have been getting and streamline it into tools that have and will help us make more strategic and informed decisions for our company’s growth and sustainability. The Marketing Report and Executive Operations Dashboard are prime examples of this. In addition, the Blood Wall process and Management Accountability Meetings have brought more focus, timeliness, and efficiency in our management team’s discussions and shared decision making. The Cash Flow Model has immediately helped in relieving stress and tension around forecasting liquidity and future obligations, especially around seasonal fluctuations. Although the four-week consultancy could be intense at times, we appreciate the condensed time frame as it allowed quicker uptake and to see more clearly how the different resources and tools interact, build off, and support each other.
