In my personal experience, this firm appeared to encourage inflammatory, adversarial conduct that unnecessarily prolonged the case and consumed resources that could have benefited my child. What should have been resolved in months dragged on for years, buried in paperwork and fueled by what I viewed as provably false allegations that had no merit or evidentiary basis. I represented myself throughout, and after standing firm against their aggressive litigation tactics, I witnessed their posture shift dramatically once the narrative collapsed. In my opinion, it was only when the threat of judicial and professional accountability became real that they sought to settle—fast. Let me be clear: this is my opinion based on direct experience. I believe they prioritize billable hours over resolution, create confusion rather than clarity, and escalate tension rather than pursue peace—at the emotional and financial expense of families and children. No one should be financially incentivized to keep families fighting. If you believe in fairness, integrity, and family-first lawyering, I recommend speaking directly with your spouse before calling firms like this. Invest in healing—not hostility. Protect your peace. I was referred to Daniel Hutto law firm by a friend of a friend who informed me that I needed to talk to Nitasha about my divorce, so that’s what I did and I’m pleased with the outcome! Nitasha and her team kept me informed at every turn, Nitasha listened to me even when I was a little short with her. I got more than I asked for and everything was wrapped up in 5 months, great communication on Nitasha’s part I will recommend Hutto law/ Nitasha to anyone looking for divorce lawyer!

I had a terrible experience with this firm and can unfortunately confirm many of the issues mentioned in other negative reviews. Hiring them was a complete waste of money — I’ve achieved better results representing myself, without any legal training, and wish I had done so instead of wasting thousands of dollars. Working with this firm only added stress and frustration during one of the most difficult and heartbreaking times of my life. Please don’t be misled by the initial “compassion” or reassurance you may receive from Shannon during the consultation. In my experience, it was insincere. When I raised concerns about my representation for the second time, she didn’t respond but instead had reception schedule a call with “management” that turned out to be with my attorney, John Carbone — who had already ignored my earlier attempts to discuss these issues. Rather than addressing my concerns or taking accountability for unprofessional and unsatisfactory counsel, he abruptly withdrew from my case. His reason was that no attorney on their team could meet my expectations — my “unreasonable” expectation being that they simply follow through on their commitments in a timely and competent manner, despite knowing my case was time-sensitive. I hired this firm after losing my job, relocating to another state for work, and facing the emotional difficulty of transitioning to a long-distance parenting plan that greatly reduced my time with my child. I was also dealing with financial strain and a high-conflict co-parent. I sought professional support for a parenting time modification, but the experience was deeply disappointing. The firm failed to act promptly, taking two weeks to make a simple date edit, provided minimal counsel, and repeatedly requested more money without clear explanations or updates. I had to follow up constantly just to obtain basic information. There was little effort to negotiate on my behalf, and I was encouraged to accept unfair offers simply to move the case along. When I questioned their lack of assertive representation — a quality they prominently advertise — I was told the attorney was “aggressive in trial,” even though my goal was to reach an agreement, not litigate. Meanwhile, my self-represented co-parent refused to provide required documents and used a statutory notice requirement my attorney failed to inform me about, which gave him leverage and ultimately resulted in a reduction of my parenting time and increasing my child support payment. They’ll likely respond defensively to this review, as they do with others — but that, in itself, speaks volumes about how they treat their clients. Rather than addressing your needs and concerns, they turn on you, all while billing exorbitant fees for substandard service.

My husband and I are forever grateful to the team we worked with at this firm in our custody case. Both Nitasha and Maricela were extremely helpful and reassuring throughout the process, answering emails quickly and making sure we were updated on where our case was and upcoming timelines as well as finding solutions that worked with our budget. Nitasha represented us in court and we couldn’t have asked for better representation; she was diligent with the facts and our position in the matter and it’s because of her efforts that we won our case.
