I applied for a green card (EB1A) while visiting the United States with my family on a J-1 visa. It was a very complicated situation. I can honestly share my experience with the MJ Lee Law Office compared to a major immigration law firm. I initially filed my I-140 (the first step of the NIW process) with a well-known, reputable immigration law firm—you may have even heard of them. They had extensive experience with NIW cases and assistants who could answer my questions, which was true and helpful. However, the downside was that they handled hundreds or even thousands of cases at once. As a result, their responses were slow, often lacked detail, and they rarely followed up unless I contacted them first. I had to manage my entire process myself based on their brief guidance. I checked the USCIS website every single day because they never notified me when a step was completed. I even found out on my own that my I-140 had been approved and had to email them to ask what to do next. Their response was, “Yes, your I-140 was approved and we will contact you shortly,” but they never followed up. It became clear that, because they had so many clients, they did not treat my case with the level of attention or care that I needed. Because of this experience, I decided to switch firms for my I-485 stage and moved to the MJ Lee Law Office, which was recommended by a friend. I started working with them in September 2025, and the difference has been remarkable.
