I wish I could leave less than 1 star. Negative starts! I am a single mom with three children, and I cannot afford to waste money on lawyers who treat people this way. I paid for a one-hour consultation and told them I wanted to retain them. I met with Lara Stuart Shortt. For two weeks, my mother and I tried multiple times to provide payment, but each time we were promised a callback that never came. Following the lawyer’s instructions, I dismissed my pro se divorce case so I could retain them. Less than an hour later, they emailed to say all their lawyers were at full capacity and they could no longer take my case. This left me without legal representation, with my case dismissed, and at risk of my ex filing first—all while my daughter remains in an unsafe situation. The firm knew I had been trying pro se for three years and assured me I could retain them after dismissing my case. This is extremely unprofessional and careless. I cannot recommend this firm.
