I give this Firm a 5 ⭐️ review. I have been working with Molly Kicklighter and her team a little over 3 years. She has helped me with finalizing my divorce and has helped me reverse the custody of my kids to live with me in Ohio. Molly and I have been in court several times in the past 3 years that she has been my attorney. I wanted to point out every time we have went to court against my ex we have won every time. My cases was dealing with a very high conflict person with that being said you could only imagine how many times we have had to go to a court hearing and put out fires! My favorite quality about Molly is she will never lies or sugar coats you like other lawyers will do just to get your business. She is always straight forward and will you give her best opinion on the matter. The support staff at this firm has always been professional and timely with their replies. The New Mexico Legal Group as a whole works as a well oiled machine! None of this in my opinion would have not been possible if it wasn’t for this firm and epically without you Molly! To this we will always be grateful for everything you have done for me and my family. Thank You Jeremy and Tammi!
I had a serious issue with communication and authorization in my case. After I confirmed a settlement was available, additional pleadings were filed without my knowledge or consent, creating unnecessary work and delay. Had I been informed, I would have immediately finalized the agreement. The lack of transparency and cost control was extremely frustrating. On September 18, I notified my attorney by email that the opposing party had agreed to a settlement. I was told she wanted to contact opposing counsel by phone first. After that call, I was informed that settlement was unlikely and that mediation with a judge from Albuquerque would be required. Despite this, additional pleadings were filed without my approval or authorization, even though settlement documents were available and the other party was ready to sign. On September 30, I emailed expressing that had I been informed of the filings, I would have immediately stopped them and finalized the settlement. This resulted in unnecessary work, delay, and billing concerns. I expected clearer communication, authorization before filings, and better case management.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Molly Kicklighter and her incredible team. From the consult, I knew I was in the best possible hands. Molly's not only an outstanding attorney but they genuinely cared about my case during what was an incredibly difficult time. Eunice and Rose were absolute rockstars throughout the entire process. They're responsive, compassionate, and went above and beyond to keep me informed every step of the way. The level of teamwork is high and they all worked together to ensure the best possible outcome. Going through this divorce and custody battle wasn't easy, but the team made it as positive as it could be. They were professional and knowledgeable and they fought for what mattered most to me and my children. Yes, the fees are a lot. I won't sugarcoat that. But you absolutely get what you pay for, and then some. They took the time to explain ways I could help manage costs through my own actions, like being organized with documents and communicating efficiently. There were times in the case that it seemed like it was on pause, because we had to wait for the court to do something, and my team didn't inflate costs or bill without reason during these pauses. If I ever need legal services again (hopefully not!), I will hire these people without hesitation. If you want a law firm that will treat you like family and fight for you, look no further.
My boyfriend (basically my husband) has unfortunately had to deal with this attorney, Molly Kicklighter, for far too long, she represents his ex-wife. While he jokingly calls her “Do-Anything-for-Money Molly,” I’ve come to think of her as Marionette Molly, because she seems to be dancing to the tune of his ex and her family every step of the way. From what I’ve witnessed, this attorney will support whatever narrative her client feeds her, regardless of how damaging, exaggerated, or one-sided it may be. It’s honestly disturbing to see how far she’ll go to push someone’s personal agenda, no matter the cost to the children or their relationship with a loving parent. Instead of promoting resolution, she’s played a role in escalating the conflict, all while racking up fees that my partner has been forced to pay through what feels like courtroom politics. That’s money that should be going to our family, our needs, and most importantly, the children. The fact that she has actively contributed to alienating them from their father, who has always worked hard and supported them, is heartbreaking. In court, it was shocking to hear her attempt to sway the judge into punishing a devoted father simply because he couldn’t hand over nearly his entire paycheck. She wanted to put him in prison. This attorney and the Third District Court is trying to turn my boyfriend into a criminal when he is FAR from that. Is that justice? Or just business as usual for this firm? At the end of the day, anyone considering this attorney should take a long, hard look at the tactics being used. If you’re looking for fairness, integrity, morality or even just basic compassion, this may not be the place. In my opinion, this law office seems all too willing to string along whoever’s pulling the puppet strings... as long as the money keeps flowing.
Jannheli was amazing to work with. She was very sweet. I also worked with Amy and she was very great to work with. I would highly recommend working with New Mexico Legal Group for any child support or custody issues. The attorneys, paralegals and support staff were always warm, and encouraging.
