We strongly advise others to avoid Nyberg Law Office. Our one month with them was filled with errors, unnecessary fees, and a noticeable lack of professionalism. The $50 consultation had zero impact on the draft stipulation, which still included multiple pages of mistakes. One minute calls, even those answered by the paralegal when we were simply asking to speak with the receptionist, were billed at $30. Communication within the office is disorganized, and they refuse to allow clients to review emails before they are sent to the opposing party. Instead, they rely on a generic “standard email” that ignores the timeline and key information we specifically asked to be included. Their claim to build relationships based on trust, confidentiality, and professionalism did not align with our experience. We did not feel advocated for at any point, only billed. When we requested our retainer back due to these issues, our concerns were dismissed and there was no interest in hearing feedback. We would not recommend this firm to anyone.

I had Josh Nyberg retained for a year to hopefully help with my child custody case. I highly recommend to find a different lawyer if you want someone that cares about your situation. There was a major lack of communication, continuously missed important deadlines, false promises, and they currently are with-holding money that I paid as a retainer. They are refusing to send an invoice of their most recent charges. This review has nothing to do with losing the entire case, even if we won I'd leave the same review due to the poor service during the process. Josh used the excuse of having too many clients to give my case the attention I was paying for. I was constantly keeping Josh up to date on where our case was and what he needed to do. The motions he filed were missing key points of information that he chose to not include due to lack of preparation. They did, however, apologize for their lack of service which I appreciated and returned money at one point, but I don't want anyone to experience this law office if you are in serious need of a lawyer. This firm will also state they were not aware of how unhappy I was with the service as an excuse, but finding a lawyer is tough especially when you're in the middle of a case. I'm not one to typically write a review like this, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt the entire time. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Josh is a great wealth of knowledge. I've had the privilege of working with Josh in the past on some community work and when I needed legal advice, I sought him out. I needed some recommendations with a legal matter unrelated to Josh's specialty and he was able to get me in the right direction. Josh's ability to understand my personal situation and help me set a path forward has been a tremendous help!!

I reached out to Josh based on reviews I had read shortly after finding out I was going to be getting a divorce. The reviews I read, said that he was very, very good at his job, compassionate, and cares about his clients, and truly believes that family is what’s important even while going through a divorce. Reviews truly did not do Josh justice. He told me right away. He doesn’t respond to every email and text message because he doesn’t want to bill for something needless. Anything I sent him that was important. He responded within an hour or two unless he was in court that day. Working with him over a 19 month period was truly pleasurable and if I ever need an attorney for anything family related again, Josh is the person that I will choose. His staff is courteous and professional, and always a pleasure to talk to whether it’s via phone or email. I have known many attorneys in my lifetime and dealt with several in family law indirectly when my parents divorced as well as when one of my brothers divorced. There isn’t a single lawyer in the Fargo Morehead area that I would recommend over Josh.
