(To start, I am sure Tax Prep and Amie will respond, with a favorable response for them, and likely some lies to make themselves look better, placing blame on me. But this is my experience, and I would love to discuss with any business owners my experience in more detail, as needed. I have the documented phone calls and emails etc.) I will start by saying, I am not perfect, as a newer small business and business owner but the services I was seeking were surely not provided, and the lack of communication this company has for smaller businesses. I am sure I was not feeding their pockets similar to other larger small business but well start with the beginning. Honestly their pricing for your tax return, isn't bad. That's the compliment they get. We had requested help in the books, someone to be in them monthly, as help with balancing as that is something we typically did not understand or have time to keep up on. After 2 years of requesting bookkeeping help, and being offered a "proposal" from Amy, for how they could take over my books, which never happened, never received anything, I barely get scheduled and snuck in last year to file my taxes. I also slacked a bit, and truly was not ready, so I was filing extensions anyway. Tax prep and Amie offered to meet with us after tax season, and establish a plan. (You would think, bookkeeping services - Apparently maybe I can't afford them, but how would I know). She said she would have her 'Intern" at the time, bill hourly, cleanup the books, and help us through understanding things better, but with the intention they would do the balance sheets. We set up regular biweekly meetings, great. When we asked what we owed, no response, of course. We did not ask to be a charity nor did I ask for free bookkeeping services from an intern. We asked for help, someone to perform the service of course, not take us to school. Following that, in October an email was sent and a meeting scheduled on the 22nd, time and date set. No call, completely ghosted the meeting. Following that we made multiple phone calls and emails, specifically to Alyssa (Who supposedly is an office manager, but clearly does not manage the office, and oh how I hope she isn't in charge of phones) with no reply. In early December, a specific meeting that we needed help, someone to meet and were looking for a response. With of course no response. The reality is, Tax Prep is great if you have your books, and everything rolling, cash flow included and are able to pay them to simply do a quality and quick tax return. Good for you, but to advertise to small businesses that your there for them support wise through the year and bookkeeping services, that do not exist, that is fraud. This company does not lift a finger outside of so stressful tax season and may have the most joke of an office manager In Alyssa that one could hire. Clearly. If you knew you did not want the business, an did not answer since October, I should have been notified of any lack to perform services and my tax return much sooner than January. But what should we expect poor communication per usual and I am sure an influx of customer with books spoon fed on a platter, ready to open their pockets for Amie and Tax Prep to do the bare minimum. Interviewing new accountants has already been a relief as the assistance one is willing to provide is astronomical in one conversation to what I got from Tax Prep in 3 years +. Unfortunately, they are truly not worth your time as a small business owner within your first 5 years, unless you truly want to just stay stagnant, they will simply file your taxes for you, that's what you get. No communication, no professionalism, no organization, and no "office manager". *STAY AWAY. Feel free to reach out to me for actual details. (Again, I am waiting for the blame game response from Amie & Tax Prep, but this has been our truly painful experience. Steer clear! Still cleaning up the mess they created in our books. If you want a small business book keeper do not use them. They also don’t answer their phones or return messages. I’m sure this review they will have deleted like others. The 4.8 stars are because they delete negative reviews about true experiences.

Just as the tax season started this year, my accountant of 15+ years passed away unexpectedly. I searched on Google for someone reputable in the area and came across this company. From my initial phone call to having my taxes prepared by them, everyone was so professional andpolite. It was a pleasure doing business with them and made it a little easier transition now that I don’t have my former accountant. I am so glad I recommended them to my son and daughter-in-law too.
