Shawn helped me win a protective order for domestic violence and a custody case. I was very stressed about the gravity of the whole situation, and Shawn remained level-headed and calm throughout the process. It was reassuring having him on my side and being able to trust him to handle things. His paralegal Jennifer was also great to work with. They were always responsive to phone calls and emails, communicated well, and met court deadlines.

I waited a year to write this review so it would not be influenced by emotion or the outcome of my case. While Shawn is knowledgeable about the law, I would not recommend him as a divorce attorney. A few days before court, he told me he was approaching the case as though we were going to lose, stating that "if we win, it will be a bonus." That comment, combined with last minute attention to key details, did not inspire confidence or reflect strong advocacy at a critical time. After investing approximately $10.000, I did not achieve a meaningful result. If you are seeking a divorce attorney who is proactive, prepared, and fully invested in representing you, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Shawn & team were kind, communicative and very helpful throughout my entire case. They made the process easy to understand, and were informative through every step. Should I ever find myself needing their services again, I will definitely be using them.

Shawn is a top notch attorney with excellent knowledge of the law. He helped me out of a real bind on short notice. My soon to be ex-wife left the state of Montana with my children and moved in with her mother near Devils Lake. She filed a completely bogus restraining order for domestic violence and abuse, (neither of which ever occurred, at least not at my hand, in our 22 years of marriage) because it was the only way she could shoehorn the divorce case into North Dakota from Montana. I’ve since confirmed that my mother-in-law is friends with the judge, and had my ex been successful in her slanderous endeavor to ruin me, the divorce would have been filed in that judge’s court as well. I’m told that my ex and her mother left their house for the courthouse that afternoon already celebrating their win and bragging that it wouldn’t take any longer than 45 minutes. They returned home over two hours later quite upset with the outcome. If it hadn’t been for Shawn’s knowledge and awesome performance in the courtroom, at a minimum, I would have been restricted from any communication with my kids for at least a year, not to mention having something on my record that would have had a lasting negative impact on my life. Despite the judge giving my ex and her attorney every chance to actually try to formulate a case against me right there in the hearing, he ultimately was left with no choice but to dismiss the order against me. Thanks Shawn, for being just the attorney I needed, when I needed you!

Shawn and his team are great! From the start they treated me with respect and dignity. They answered all my questions and made the process nearly painless. If i ever need representation again, i will not think twice about going back to Shawn!
