Reviews
I hired Svetlana Schreiber & Associates in 2014, after receiving a deportation order due to a poorly handled asylum case by a previous attorney. Svetlana’s team initially helped me apply for DACA and pause the deportation, which I appreciated. However, what followed was a long and disappointing experience. I trusted them for many years, even after moving to Florida, keeping them as my legal representatives for my marriage-based adjustment case. Despite fully paying them years ago, they stalled my case for over seven years. Every time I asked for updates, they would just say “sit tight.” At one point, they forgot to file a waiver for two entire years. Only after I followed up did they realize their mistake. Later, they encouraged me to proceed with a consular interview without checking the fine print that clearly stated I could not leave the country due to a past deportation order. I was the one who caught that — not them. They confirmed I was right and said I shouldn’t travel. That kind of mistake is unacceptable. I lost precious time, money, and the chance to get my green card much earlier. I fulfilled all my responsibilities and payments. They failed to manage my case professionally. I do not recommend this firm.
I hired this firm to handle my husband’s immigration case, trusting them from the very beginning. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. For more than seven years, they kept my husband’s case stagnant, even though they had already been paid in full. Please be aware: At first, they helped with DACA, but after that they made several very serious mistakes, such as forgetting to file the waiver, which cost us two full years of unnecessary waiting. Whenever we asked for updates, the answer was always the same: “sit tight.” Even worse, when the waiver was finally approved, they failed to realize that my husband could not leave the country because of a prior deportation order—something any attorney should have reviewed from the start. If we hadn’t carefully read the documents ourselves, they would have sent him to the consulate, where he risked not being allowed back into the U.S. After so many years of trust and patience, the case was never completed, the papers never arrived, and their responsibility was minimal. I would not recommend this office to anyone who has a delicate case or needs an attorney who will truly stay on top of things and provide proper follow-up. They doesn’t even know what’s going on or what’s next step. I do no recommend them, if you care for your family and friends do no recommend them.
I strongly advise caution when considering this law firm. Our experience was marked by a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and what appeared to be a serious lack of knowledge on the part of our attorney. The level of negligence demonstrated by this law firm is deeply concerning and could lead to serious consequences.
We went today with my family to check on my sister’s case but we had a bad experience with the lawyer(female), she didn’t give an introduction of herself, she asked about the case and she was on her phone for a bit not sure what she was checking but it was rude not to let us know what is happening, too much roundabout regarding the solution. She asked me to translate to my family like if I was working for her. Zero communication skills, not sure if she was having a bad day but there is no way to treat your potential customers like that. I am not coming back to this place and I don’t recommend it. There are plenty of other places in town.
Meet with one of the attorneys today for a consultation, the meeting to last about 7 minutes, she was adament about something I did on our case until I showed her she was wrong, the next 3-4 minutes after that showed us this was not the right attorney for us. I don't know immigration law but I know not all cases are the same, and she generalized without really listing to one concern we had.
